Women of different cultures and backgrounds have come together in Holywells Park for an art project exploring the role of women in the 21st Century.
The My Place printmaking sessions have been running weekly at the park’s conservatory organised by Oyster Community Press, and features the group exploring different cultures and relationships through art.
Having been preparing work over the last two months, the group is exhibiting the prints at DanceEast from April 28.
Alison Smyth, Oyster Community Press director said: “It has been a privilege to work with our cohort of 20 women of all ages and backgrounds on this project and we can’t wait to see the My Place exhibition up in the wonderful Whistler Gallery at the Jerwood Dance House.
“The women have worked hard to learn the art form of printmaking and we think the public will be moved by the work they have produced in just six week.”
