IPSWICH Hospital has been praised as among the best healthcare organisations to work for in the country.

The Heath Road hospital was included in the Health Service Journal and Nursing Time's survey of the top 100 places to work in the UK's healthcare industry.

NHS Suffolk, the county's primary care trust, Suffolk Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust and the East of England Ambulance Service were not included in the list.

The study, based on a survey of employees at healthcare organisations, both public and private, said about the hospital: “The staff are what makes working at this trust special. The trust says it strives to make staff feel valued and many feel grateful for the opportunity to work family friendly hours.”

Jennifer Canham, deputy director of human resources at Ipswich Hospital, said: "We are delighted that the hospital has been named in the top 100 places to work in Healthcare in the UK.

"It is a tremendous achievement which we believe reflects on our dedication to and high standards of employment practices, as well as how our employees feel about their place of work.
