HOUSE-to-house enquiries were today being carried out in the road where an Ipswich teenager is reported to have been raped.

Officers are asking residents of Downside Close, Ipswich, whether they saw or heard anything which could lead them to the four men who abducted and raped the 19-year-old in a white car behind a block of flats.

The crime happened after she left Kartouche nightclub, at 2.40am on Friday.

A police spokeswoman today said detectives were also reviewing CCTV footage and identifying witnesses. She added that the victim is also likely to be re-interviewed as part of the inquiry.

Forensic evidence has also been gathered and is being analysed.

Most had London accents, and the rapist was of a muscular build, detectives have revealed.

Police are anxious to hear from anyone who was in either the Princes Street or Downside Close area of Ipswich in the early hours of Friday morning or who may recognise these men.

Anyone with information is asked to call DS Duncan Sheppard at Ipswich CID on 01473 383132 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
