Hundreds attend community picnic at Holywells Park in Ipswich
More than 300 people attended a big community picnic at Holywells Park today - organised by Ipswich's Bangladeshi Support Centre.
The event, the first organised by the centre, saw a host of fun family activities take place including a circus skills workshop, a magic show, popcorn and candy floss, five-a-side football and much more.
Suffolk Wildlife Trust also turned up as well as the Friends of Holywells Park who provided tea and coffee for everyone attending.
Shayra Begum, from the Bangladeshi Support Centre, said: “There was a mix of different communities which is what we really wanted, to integrate people.
“We wanted lots of communities to come together and I think that is what we have achieved.
“And it brought lots of people in to this beautiful park.”
She said due to the huge success of their first picnic, the centre is discussing planning another.
