Ipswich is port of call for classic tall ships race

The Race of the Classics has seen teams of students from across The Netherlands take part for more than 30 years.

This year, more than 400 students set sail from Rotterdam on Monday, and will finish the challenge at Coenhaven in Amsterdam on Sunday.

Paul Ager, divisional port manager with ABP East Anglia, said: “We are proud the Port of Ipswich is part of the route chosen by the Race of the Classics Foundation as this further strengthens the reputation of the port and town of Ipswich as a magnet for the European sailing community and as an excellent yacht and marina destination.
