POLICE investigating the alleged rape of a man in Felixstowe are appealing for help in tracing a Good Samaritan who helped call for assistance when a man had a fit in the same area of the town.

The ambulance service received a call around 3.35am on Sunday, to a man having a fit on the pavement in the Cavendish Road area.

It's thought the Good Samaritan - a man in his 20s or 30s - took charge of the situation to report the incident after the original caller had difficulty making himself understood.

A man in his late 30s told police he was raped in Pram Lane, near the Ordinance roundabout, on the same morning.

He had been at the Band Box nightclub when he left in the early hours of the morning and walked towards Pram Lane where he was raped.

The victim then returned to Band Box where he met with friends and later contacted police.

Police want to trace the Good Samaritan as he may have information that can help inquiries.

Anyone who knows who it was should call Felixstowe CID on 01473 613500.
