POLICE are today looking for the thieves who ransacked an old snooker club in Ipswich, swiping snooker tables and copper piping.

The disused club in Neptune Quay was left in a state as the culprits pulled down the ceiling, ripped radiators off and stripped copper piping from the walls.

There were also attempts to take copper piping from the cellar and toilets.

It is believed a number of full-sized snooker tables, worth £3,000 each, were taken from the club some between April 9 and April 15, as it was left unattended during this period.

Door to door enquiries have been carried out in the area and a witness reported seeing three men wearing dark green overalls loading items into a blue 4x4 with a trailer and a white Mercedes panel van some time during that same period.

The first culprit was white, in his late 40s, about 6ft, with a cut on his right cheek. The second man was around the same age, about 6ft with very red hair. The third man is described as about 6ft 2in, with dark hair, and a much bigger build than the other two.
