SOHAM murderer Ian Huntley has taken a suspected overdose and is tonight being treated in hospital.The Prison Service has launched an investigation into what happened at Wakefield prison this afternoon.

SOHAM murderer Ian Huntley has returned to prison after being treated in hospital following a suspected overdose, a Prison Service spokeswoman said.

An investigation is under way into events at Wakefield high security prison yesterday afternoon.

The killer of ten-year-olds Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman was thought to have taken an overdose of prescription medication but his condition was not thought to be life threatening.

The spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that Ian Huntley was treated in hospital for a suspected overdose. We will be investigating events surrounding this incident.”

Huntley was later transferred back to the high security prison having received medical treatment.
