A husband was so distraught over the death of his wife he wrapped her body in a bin liner and stayed with her for a week, an inquest has heard.
Kevin Webb then fled the Poringland home he shared with his wife Gillian before being arrested by police in Scarborough in North Yorkshire where he was eventually released without charge.
Yesterday, a Norwich inquest heard how Mrs Webb who had problems with alcohol, had died of natural causes on January 23 this year and there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the case.
Her body was discovered by police officers at the bungalow where she lived with her husband, Kevin, on February 1.
Mr Webb told the inquest that he spent some time with her to clear things up and make arrangements for their cats before heading to the Yorkshire coast for a few days.
Mr Webb told the hearing his wife had fallen out of bed so he made her comfortable on the floor and she died in his arms.
