DRIVERS were urged to take care on the roads this morning as icy conditions caused several accidents.
A motorcyclist came off his bike in Bromley Road, Lawford, at 5.30am after slipping on ice.
The man was taken to hospital to be checked over after suffering minor injuries in the accident.
A female driver had a lucky escape after her car overturned and landed in a ditch when she lost control of the vehicle in the freezing conditions.
The woman was not injured in the crash in Goldhanger Road, Heybridge, at 7.08am.

And at 7.30am emergency services were called to the B1124 at Wakes Colne after a single car left the road and went into a ditch.
