The new-look Oak Meadow play area in Kesgrave has been unveiled following revamp work.

Kesgrave Town Council took over the popular Grange Farm site in December 2015 after concerns over the equipment being damaged and needing updating.

Now, following investment from the town’s district councillors, Sport and Recreation in Kesgrave and Suffolk Coastal District Council’s outdoor play space fund, the improved play area has been opened, featuring new slides, all-weather football surface and a zip wire.

A toddler play unit, three-bay swing and outdoor gym equipment suitable for adults and teenagers have also been installed.

A town council spokeswoman thanked those who helped fund the revamp, and added: “The town council has a play and open spaces working group that will continue to work for better play and recreational facilities in Kesgrave.”
