Organisers of the ‘In Celebration of Peace’ exhibition held at the University of Suffolk have been buoyed by the display’s success.

The gallery was set up in the Waterfront Building through December and January, and used military camouflage designs to depict scenes of peace, rather than war.

Organiser Linda Ward said: “It’s been very, very good.

“In the comments book I have had brilliant comments, so it has really made me feel so happy and the idea of the possibility of future peace.

“I think it is important because we live in times of continual war going on, but it could easily escalate into an atomic war.

“I think it has to start at grassroots where we use individual’s work, and that way gradually we could work towards a more peaceful world.”

Professor of criminology Dr Paul Andell added that it can help inform people’s understanding of peace.
