POLICE are today urging witnesses to come forward after a man collapsed and died in an Ipswich car park. The 31-year-old died in the car park above the Blockbusters movie store in Berners Street at around 2pm on Saturday.

POLICE are today urging witnesses to come forward after a man collapsed and died in an Ipswich car park.

The 31-year-old died in the car park above the Blockbusters movie store in Berners Street at around 2pm on Saturday.

Police today revealed the incident is not being treated as suspicious.

The death has been referred to the coroner and a post mortem will take place soon.

Officers are keen to speak to a man who called an ambulance from a telephone kiosk nearby and met paramedics but left before police arrived at the scene.

The man was wearing a baseball cap and dark clothing.

It is believed he may hold vital information which could assist with the coroner's investigation.

A police spokesman said: “We want to make clear that the death is not being treated as suspicious and that this is not a criminal investigation.

“However, we would like the man who reported the incident to contact us.

“We believe he could hold information which could help with the coroner's investigation.”

The spokesman said that the force was also keen to speak to anyone else who may have information on the death or who was in the area near to the Blockbusters store at the time.
