AN investigation is underway after a man was crushed by a loader.

Inspectors from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have visited the water works in Yarmouth Road, Lound, near Lowestoft, where the incident happened yesterday just after 4pm. An investigation has now been launched.

The injured man, who suffered serious chest and leg injuries, was taken to hospital but his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

A HSE spokesman said: “During the course of the investigation a report will be written and from this a decision will be made as to whether the HSE will be prosecuting.”
