AN ACTOR from an Ipswich-based theatre company has volunteered for a hair-raising experience to support two hospices.
Dennis Bowron, from Two Rivers Theatre Company, has had his hair shaved off for his part in the company’s Calendar Girls production and raised money for St Elizabeth Hospice and EACH at the same time.
Dennis is playing the part of John, who undergoes chemotherapy for leukaemia and is the reason the girls produce the now infamous nude calendar. He said: “When it came to actually doing it I was nervous, but I kept thinking about all the money we are raising and it feels worth it.”
The show will be at the Sir John Mills Theatre from September 19 to 22.
