Septuagenarians celebrated 70 years of the NHS at a special tea party arranged by health leaders in east Suffolk.
The Ipswich and East Suffolk Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) governing body joined the 70 year olds for festivities at their latest meeting.
Louise Hardwick, head of primary care partnerships at the CCG said the tea party gave colleagues a chance to listening to people’s experiences of healthcare over the years and build links between patients and providers.
Younger people were also represented through a school poster design competition.
“This was a fantastic event where young and old came together in celebration of the NHS on its 70th anniversary etc,” Ms Hardwick saud.
“Both mingled really well and discussed the importance of sun care during this heatwave but also through our winter campaign winners the importance of having a flu jab.”
The tea party also featured an exhibition of photographs of Ipswich Hospital through the years which prompted more discussions of health care.
