She moved to the spotlight with her design for Ipswich's Pigs Gone Wild project, and now Lois Cordelia has been talent-scouted for a similar art trail further afield.
Ipswich-based Lois is one of just 21 artists worldwide to be chosen to take part in Sitting with Jane, an event in Hampshire organised to celebrate author Jane Austen 200 years after her death.
Next week Lois will visit the southern county to paint her sketch onto a blank ‘BookBench’ during a two-day live demonstration.
The finished product will join 24 other benches, decorated with a Jane Austen theme by professional artists, which will be scattered around Basingstoke - just like the pigs were in Ipswich - between June and September.
Lois’ creation, called Look Upon Verdure, incorporates two quotations of the praised novelist, illustrating her love of nature.
“I love the idea of a BookBench, and am delighted to have had a design chosen for inclusion in the Sitting with Jane trail,” Lois said.
Lois will paint the bench in Festival Place, Basingstoke on Tuesday and Wednesday, and people are encouraged to go along and watch.
