Ipswich Art Society are to host their first exhibition in the Artspace Gallery in Woodbridge later this month.

The exhibition, called Pictures for Christmas, will feature a number of different mediums including paintings, sculptures and prints.

All the pieces are small works produced by professional artists. The society hopes that this will make them perfect Christmas gifts.

The Ipswich Art Society was set up in 1874 to encourage the appreciation and study of art in Ipswich and has been holding talks and exhibitions ever since.

It’s membership includes famous East Anglian artists such as as Harry Becker, Colin Moss, Sir Alfred Munnings, Leonard Squirrell, Edward Seago and Anna Airy.

The show will take place for two weeks between November 11 and 25, all the work exhibited will be for sale.

The event will be opened by the Mayor of Woodbridge, Cllr Claire Perkins.
