IPSWICH indie-pop band Rosalita has today announced 12 more dates as part of their UK-wide tour.
The band, which opened the V-Festival at Chelmsford in 2007, will perform in a number of venues throughout March and April including Edinburgh, London, Manchester, Brighton, Liverpool and Dundee.
Keyboards player Ben Groom said the five strong band are looking forward to their first national tour.
He said the band had originally planned a one month tour but had been persuaded to spend a second month on the road.
Ben added: “There's a lot of dates and there will be a lot of driving but we are looking forward to getting on the road and performing to new audiences.
“We are a bit nervous and we are hoping it all goes ok but if someone had said to us 18 months ago that we would be doing a tour like this we wouldn't have believed it.”
With a set of their songs prepared and under rehearsal, the band are also releasing a three track Extended Play (EP) CD to coincide with the tour.
The EP includes the band's songs “What would your mother say?” “If You Can't Dance” and “Way Past Bedtime”.
Ben, 25, added: “Hopefully the EP will do well and the tour and EP will compliment each other.
“We are looking forward to it and looking forward to going to all the different places. Most of us have never been to Scotland before so that should be interesting.”
On March 28 the band will play to a home crowd at Ipswich Caribbean Club in Woodbridge Road.
Ben added: “It will be the biggest venue and biggest show we have done in Ipswich so we are very excited about being back in the town for that gig.”
