An Ipswich Beaver Scouts group has been given a £500 cash boost to buy new sports and camping equipment.

The donation, from Bovis Homes, was handed to the 31st/9th Beaver group at the home builder’s new Ribbans Park site.

Karen Butcher, leader of the 31st/9th Beavers, said she was ‘delighted’ to receive the cash.

She said: “This donation will enable us to update old equipment and to extend our range of sports activity equipment.

“Outside activities play an important role in the Beaver programme and the children enjoy the wide range if sports activities offered.”

Annette Hurst regional sales director for Bovis, added: “It’s great that we can play a part in the local community and support young people in getting involved with sport and outdoor developments.

“The 31st/9th Beavers is the closest group to our Ribbans Park development so we hope to see lots of young people from Ribbans Park joining the groups and enjoying the activities on offer.”
