Robert Stewart, 26, died in a crash in Henley Road, Akenham, north of Ipswich, in April 2017 - when he his partner Julia Day-Stewart was expecting their first child together.

His death was met with glowing tributes from friends and family, who described him as “an amazing man”.

Around 100 members of the motorcycling community honoured the popular biker by riding out as part of a procession before his funeral at Seven Hills Crematorium last year.

Earlier this month, Julia helped organise The Robert Stewart Memorial Games, with help from his brother William and the Reid family from Leiston.

The couple’s daughter, Luna, who was born last July attended along with dozens of friends and family members.

The fun day included a raffle, cake stall, barbecue, face painting and disco as well as an adult and children’s football match.

More than £2,000 has already been raised in Robert’s memory.

Half of the total raised will be donated to Brake, the road safety charity, and the remaining half will go to a trust fund set up for their daughter, Luna.

Julia, who is an A&E nurse at Ipswich Hospital, said: “Life would be a miserable place without such fantastic people in it.

“I can’t thank those who helped on the day and came along enough. I know Rob would be incredibly proud of them all.

“I also want to thank those that donated to the raffle, including Cutting Discos, Lucky 13 Tattoo Studio and Arsenal football club who donated a signed football and team photo.

“Also special thanks to Exim Solutions for providing the medals and trophy, and Bourne Vale Social Club for hosting the event.”

Speaking after his death, Robert’s family described him as the “perfect family man”.

“Robert was an amazing man to know, he was my everything: the perfect family man,” their statement read.

“He was a loving son, partner, brother and dad and we shared so many good times together.

“He was taken too soon and will be sadly missed by us all.”

Concerns have been raised about the stretch of road in Akenham, where the fatal accident happened.
