An Ipswich driver has been banned from the road for six months after being caught speeding four times in seven weeks on the A12 near East Bergholt.

Madrea Marsh, of Bittern Close, pleaded guilty at South East Magistrates’ Court to four speeding offences and another of driving without insurance.

He must also pay a total of £1,006 in fines and costs.

All the 36-year-old’s speeding offences were captured on the average speed cameras set up on the 70mph stretch of road between East Bergholt and Stratford St Mary.

The first offence occurred on the Ipswich-bound stretch on July 7 when Marsh was in a BMW travelling at 87mph. The next happened on the same carriageway seven days later when the car was clocked at 79mph.

Marsh was caught again, going in the other direction this time at 82mph in a Mercedes on July 20. The fourth occasion was on August 31 when the Mercedes was travelling at 79mph.

The no insurance matter occurred on November 6 in London Road, Ipswich.
