Motorists on the A14 near Ipswich were faced with delays when a BMW crashed into the central reservation.
A grey BMW Z4 spun and hit the crash barrier westbound between the Copdock Interchange and the junction for Sproughton at around 4.15pm today, police said.
The car ended up facing oncoming traffic and the outside lane was closed before the vehicle was recovered at around 5.20pm.
The driver was uninjured.
The force spokesman added the central reservation had suffered some structural damage and Highways Agency contractors would work to repair it this evening.
