A TEENAGER is in a “stable condition” in hospital after being stabbed in the stomach during an incident in the Ravenswood area of Ipswich.

The 15-year-old was stabbed in the stomach just before 11.30pm on Friday night. Witnesses reported seeing an incident in the Martinet Green area in which the 15-year-old was assaulted.

At this stage police making enquiries to determine exactly what happened and will be talking to the victim, who is currently in a stable condition at Ipswich Hospital with a wound to his stomach and a wound to his wrist, later today.

His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

A cordon has been put in place from Hunter Road onto the Green area while an initial forensic examination of the scene is carried out.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen what happened, or anyone with information about who stabbed the teenager, to call Ipswich CID on 101.
