Bus services in the south east of Ipswich are to have a shake up from the start of next week to herald the new year.

Ipswich Buses is introducing changes to its Service 1 and Service 6 – and is introducing a new Service X1.

The new routes will allow people from the Broke Hall estate to reach the doctors’ surgery in Ravenswood more easily.

And it will also provide better links to Futura Park – the home of the John Lewis/Waitrose superstore – and the Sainsbury’s and Homebase stores at Warren Heath.

Ipswich Buses managing director Malcolm Robson said: “We have a new network of services in south east Ipswich taking into account many public comments we received about providing links to the surgery in Ravenswood, plus better bus links to John Lewis, Sainsbury’s and the hospital.

“We have listened to what local residents and councillors were telling us and have redesigned our network to provide new links whilst also improving our express service X3 along Nacton Road.”
