Ipswich: Call for fairies for charity world record attempt

GRAB your wings and wand and put on a tutu to help with a charity world record attempt this summer.
People are being called on to help break a Guinness World Record in aid of charity – by dressing up as fairies.
Organisers hope to set a record at the Cornhill on June 23 for the largest number of people to don tutus, wings and wands in the same place.
The fairy fun day is being organised in aid of the Woolverstone Wish.
The charity is raising money to refurbish the chemotherapy outpatient clinics and day unit in the Woolverstone Wing of Ipswich Hospital.
The previous record stands at 786 fairies in Stamford, Lincolnshire.
Now Sharon Wragg, a conveyancing executive at Kerseys Solicitors, wants to sprinkle some fairy dust in Ipswich.

Sharon, 44, said the charity was close to the heart of everyone at Kerseys after colleague Judy Sykes was diagnosed with Hodgkins lymphoma.
She said: “The news was obviously devastating for Judy and upsetting for me as a friend. She underwent such a harsh treatment, but she had nothing but praise for the staff working in the Woolverstone Wing oncology department.
“However, the surroundings don’t allow for privacy and it is barely big enough to cater for patients’ needs.
“To support something local, which touches so many people who suffer with this awful disease, has to be worthwhile.”
The event is being held in collaboration with the Ipswich Arts Festival on Sunday, June 23.
Woolverstone Wish is currently over the halfway mark of its goal to raise £800,000. Kerseys, in Lloyds Avenue, has raised £5,000 to date.
