IPSWICH: Two teams are today preparing to square up on the football pitch in honour of a brave seven-year-old.

Mason Fountain was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2009. Inspired to help other youngsters battling the disease, the Gusford Primary School pupil set up his own charity, Mason’s Magic, earlier this year.

On Sunday the charity match is taking place at Ipswich Wanderers’ ground in Humber Doucy Lane from noon.

At 3pm the main event will kick off with a team of celebrities facing a team of fans, with former town star Fabian Wilnis and the Star’s ITFC reporter Dave Gooderham and stars from the reality TV show The Only Way is Essex expected to be cheering from the sidelines.

Mum Shelley Fountain, told the Star: “Mason is really excited about the match, we all are. It should be lots of fun for everyone.

“There will be fun activities and market stalls for everyone as well as the matches.”

Organiser Ross Wishart said the day promises to be “lots of fun for a great cause, supporting a very brave youngster”.
