Borough bosses have agreed to make changes to the license of a popular Waterfront bar in Ipswich after a complaint was made about noise levels at the site.

Exactly what changes will be made to Isaacs’ license is not yet known but that is expected to be discussed in the coming weeks following the decision by the borough council’s licensing and regulatory sub-committee. Full details of what the decision will mean for the pub is not yet known but it is expected that the venue will still be able to play music.A spokeswoman for the borough council said: “Amendments will be made to the license to put in controls with regards to noise nuisance.”A spokesman for Isaacs said: “With respect to the outcome of Isaacs’ licencing review which was held by Ipswich Borough Council, the most important aspect of this review concerns a commitment by ourselves to work more proactively with our neighbours on the quay, and to ensure that we are doing all we can to minimise noise and disruption. “As part of this commitment, we will be installing equipment to assist with limiting noise levels, and are fully resolved to strike the correct balance between ensuring our customers have a fantastic night out, but without undue disruption to our neighbours.”Isaacs on the Quay is home to four bars and has a thriving live music scene, which includes Sunday afternoon live music sessions.It is also used as a space for private parties, wedding receptions and functions.Give us your thoughts on this by leaving a comment in the space below.
