THE Evening Star has raised 120 for the Iceni Project following an auction for two pairs of tickets for tonight’s big match.

As part of the Save Iceni, Save Lives campaign to support the drugs rehabilitation charity, which is facing closure, The Evening Star teamed up with Ipswich Town.

Simon Clegg, chief executive at Ipswich Town, said: “The club is delighted to be supporting Iceni, particularly as they face the difficult challenge trying to close the financial gap resulting from the loss of local government funding.”

Duo Ben Slomka and Matthew Brader were winners after entering a joint bid in the auction.

Mr Slomka, of Ipswich, told the Evening Star that he was excited to be one of the 9,000 fans preparing to descend on the Emirates.

“I’m so excited,” he said. “There is such a buzz about the game, the Emirates will undoubtedly have a great pitch, but are they ready for the Tractors?”

Their joint bid saw them donate 60 towards Iceni after an auction began at the end of last week.
