Suffolk women’s choir The Orwell Singers have raised £700 for Ipswich charity Families in Need (FIND) though a special charity concert.

The performance, at the Museum Street Methodist Church in Ipswich, saw the choir joined by pupils from St Helen’s Primary School and Copleston High School.

The choir are currently preparing for their big annual Christmas concert on Saturday, December 2, at St Michael and All Angels Church in Martlesham Heath, where the choir held their summer concert in June.

Next year the choir, which formed in 1993, will celebrate its silver anniversary.

The singers regularly perform abroad, in recent years visiting France, Germany, Holland and Belgium, as well as boasting a busy schedule of UK events.

Secretary Debbie Sharman said the choir is always on the lookout for new members.
