Ipswich Choral Society is concluding its season of performances with a relaxed Sunday afternoon concert on June 18.

The ‘Strawberries and Song’ concert will take place at the Royal Hospital School in Holbrook from 3pm, and feature performances of compositions written by the society’s vice president Stevie Wishart, commissioned for the society’s 190th anniversary.

The event will also feature performances of choral works by Brahms, Faure, Whitacre and Parry among other composers.

The season finale follows the society’s latest successful concert at Snape Maltings, where Mendelssohn’s Elijah was the headline performance.

Strawberries and cream is also being served to tie in with the ‘Strawberries and Song’ theme.

Tickets are £12 and available from Music World in Queen Street, Ipswich, or by calling 01473 625208.
