Ipswich: Duchess of Cambridge saddened by death of brave Jaymie-Leigh
REPRESENTATIVES for the Duchess of Cambridge today said she would be saddened to learn of the death of a brave tot who fought a rare form of cancer with a smile on her face.
Jaymie-Leigh Ring lost her battle with cancer on October 22, after more than a year fighting pleuropulmonary blastoma.
Community representatives hit out last week after thieves stole money raised in honour of Jaymie-Leigh from Palmers Bakery, in Meredith Road.
The brave youngster had spent time receiving palliative care at East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, a charity whose Royal Patron is the Duchess of Cambridge.
A spokesman for the Duchess said she would be informed of Jaymie-Leigh’s passing and the burglary, and would “no doubt be saddened to learn of the news”.
Police believe the theft took place between 1.30am and 7.30am on October 13.
Her family paid tribute to the brave youngster who was “always happy and smiling”.
