Police have released an e-fit likeness of a man who made off with takings from a charity shop in Ipswich on Monday.

The incident happened at the Suffolk Animal Rescue charity shop on Felixstowe Road between 3.40pm and 4pm.

A woman, who works at the shop, was distracted by a man who then stole the shop takings from her.

He grabbed a bag of money and pushed the woman over, causing injury to her hips.

He then fled from the shop with the money and ran across the road causing several vehicles to stop.

The man is described as being in his 40s, 6ft tall of slim build.

He is white with a tan, has dark brown curly hair which is swept to one side, and is described as English and well-spoken.

He was wearing dark slim fit trousers or jeans, black shoes, and a navy blue waterproof winter jacket.

Suffolk Police have asked anyone who saw someone who matches the description, or recognises the e-fit to call Pc Colin Shelton at Ipswich Police on 101, quoting reference number IE/14/3085 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Police also asked anyone with any other information that could help them regarding the incident to also call.
