Ipswich & East Suffolk Hockey Club will remember two of their former members at a charity tournament tomorrow (July 11)
The Ipswich Sports Centre-based club at Rushmere will remember ex-player and founder of the club, Richard Gray, who was one of the 52 killed in the 7/7 bombings 10 years ago this week, as well as former player Hannah Reynolds, who died earlier this year from a brain tumour at the age of 49.
All funds raised at this year’s tournament will go to Macmillan Cancer as requested by Hannah shortly before her death.
The club has run the tournament for a few years now known as ‘The Richard Gray Tournament’ and this has only been changed to the IES Charity Tournament this year to include Hannah who was such a special member of the club, her death affecting everyone deeply.
The tournament starts at 2pm and will run until 6pm. There will be a barbecue and a bouncy castle for children and a curry in the evening.
