Crane Building Services and Utilities picked charities close to the hearts of their staff – Macmillan Cancer Support in Suffolk, Service by Emergency Rider Volunteers (SERV), Sue Ryder – The Chantry, Lighthouse Women’s Aid and Ronald McDonald House Alder Hey.

A total of £28,000 was presented to the charities on August 14 on behalf of the Crane Fund for Widows & Children.

Richard Tuck, president of Crane Building Services and Utilities, said: “It is truly humbling to hear about the work that these charities do in our community, and to know that each one of these charities has made a difference in some way to at least one of our associates who have nominated them.

“It is a real privilege to be able to present these donations.”

A further £33,000 will be donated to other charities at the Crane BS&U site in Hitchin on Friday.
