The Ipswich Greyfriars Round Table has celebrated one of its members joining the national board for the first time since its inception in 1965.
Paul Bewley has joined the national board of Round Table groups as the national membership officer, marking the first time an Ipswich member has been on the board out of more than 400 clubs.
He said: “It’s a huge honour to be the first person to represent Ipswich Greyfriars in our 52 year history on the National Board of Round Table Britain and Ireland.”
He added: “It is an amazing opportunity to be able to have the opportunity to share what we have learnt in order to grow our international organisation and help replicate what we have achieved in Ipswich throughout the United Kingdom.”
The Round Table allows men of all walks of life to get together, regularly raising more than £30,000 each year for charity.
