A mysterious poet who has been spreading cheer among hairdressers in the UK has sent his work to two salons in Ipswich.
Staff at Hair by Anette in Upper Orwell Street and Francesco Hair Salon in St Matthews Street were blown away when they turned up to work on Wednesday morning to find a letter from a man who has been dubbed the ‘Banksy of poetry’.
Both shops received the same handwritten poem on a black piece of paper, signed off by “the composer Mark Jones”.
The elusive Mr Jones has been delighting hairdressers up and down the country for a couple of years, with his true identity yet to be discovered.
Franco De Lellis, owner of Francesco Hair Salon, said the “quirky” poem will be going on their wall.
“It was nice to receive a handwritten poem,” he said. “It came first thing and is a nice chirpy poem. We are thankful to whoever Mr Jones is!”
Owner of Hair by Anette, Aneta Kloczko, said: “We were shocked, we had no idea who sent it. I really like the poem.
“We will put it in a frame, it is a nice souvenir. It was a very nice surprise.”
