A handyman is appealing for the return of his property which was stolen from the back of his van in Ipswich while he was inside a house.

Alan Willis, of Carlyle Close, Ipswich, had been unloading materials at a premises in Nelson Road, when a thief took a rucksack containing personal belongings and a hard drive with his records on it. The incident occurred on Monday, July 10, shortly after 4pm.

Mr Willis, 56, said: “The stuff that was taken had useful things on it and there were lots of other things in the bag like personal receipts, which I have now lost.”

Police have issued the description of a man caught on camera acting suspiciously around the van.

He is described as white, with blond hair, of chubby build, and was wearing red short-cropped trousers. He is suspected of stealing a brown ruck sack from Mr Willis’ vehicle. Anyone with information should telephone Suffolk Police on 101, quoting crime number 47998/17.
