WHAT a difference 40 years makes... or not.
Peter Cutts, 62, unearthed this old photo of Soane Street taken by his mother Barbara Cutts around 1967.
The photo was taken at the junction of Soane Street and St Margaret’s Street, just next to the entrance to Christchurch Park.
It shows the historic building which once contained a newsagents and now houses Blake Mayhew estate agents – currently surrounded by roadworks. Mr Cutts, a driving instructor from Hadleigh, posted the photo on iWitness24 as a reaction against the many roadworks around the town – showing how the street used to look.
Mr Cutts said his mother didn’t take many photos around the town, but he thinks it was the car that was the focus of the picture.
He said: “Me and my brothers liked American cars, so I think she just took it to please the boys.”
