Ipswich Holi Festival is to take place on Sunday after last month’s event had to be called off because of bad weather.
The festival, which originated in India, is to be held at Holywells Park between 1pm and 4pm – but don’t dress up in your Sunday Best if you’re planning to attend.
It will feature Bollywood entertainment, music, singing and dancing and Indian food stalls.
The highlight for many is the opportunity to cover each other in coloured powder – it is great fun and a fantastic spectacle. The coloured powder will be provided.
But participants and their clothes will need a good wash as soon as they get home after the event!
Ipswich Holi Festival is organised by the Ipswich & Suffolk Indian Association, with the support of Ipswich Borough Council.
Entrance to the park is via Myrtle Road. Parking is available at Athena Hall car park off Duke Street and at Orwell Quay.
