About 100 homes in part of north west Ipswich were without water during the early hours of Friday morning after a burst at a pumping station near Sproughton.
The Westbourne Road/Rayleigh Road/Kelvin Road area was affected with water being cut off shortly before midnight.
Engineers worked to isolate the problem and most properties had their supplies restored by 3am.
A spokeswoman for Anglian Water said: “Because of the time, most people probably didn’t know about the problem but we apologise to anyone inconvenienced by this.”
