Ipswich serial killer Steve Wright’s father has revived suspicions his son was involved in the death of an estate agent who disappeared in 1986.
The theory was first put forward at the time of Wright’s arrest for killing five women in 2006.
Suzy Lamplugh worked in the salon of the QEII when Wright was employed as a steward – but detectives were satisfied he was on board at the time of her disappearance in Fulham, ruling him out of the investigation in 2012, despite his ex-wife telling the national press he would have been on shore leave.
Wright’s father, Conrad, will feature in Channel 5 documentary My Son: The Serial Killer on Wednesday, during which he will admit being “troubled” by photos of the murderer and Miss Lamplugh together – photos Wright had in his possession when living near his father before moving to Ipswich.
Miss Lamplugh was declared dead in 1994 but her body has never been found.
