A learner driver who was behind the wheel without supervision was reportedly seen with a one-year-old child on a lap in the front passenger seat.
The Norfolk and Suffolk Roads and Armed Policing Team stopped the blue Peugeot vehicle in Ipswich on Saturday, September 15.
Once they had pulled the vehicle over, checks then showed the driver only had a provisional licence and was driving unsupervised.
The vehicle was seized by police and a traffic offence report (TOR) given to the driver.
Under section 163 of the Road Traffic Act 1988, police have the power to stop a vehicle at any time and they do not need to give a reason. Failing to stop is a criminal offence.
Those given TORs can end up with a one-off fine or have the matter sent to court for a hearing.
Learner drivers have to supervised at all times when they are on the road, whether that is by a qualified driving instructor or another motorist who meets the rules.

Any car being driven by a provisional licence holder must also display ‘L’ plates at all times.
