Ipswich man admits father's stabbing

AN Ipswich man has today been sentenced to an indefinite period of detention after pleading guilty to the manslaughter of his father.Appearing at Chelmsford Crown Court today, Steven John Harvey, 43, of Rubens Road, Ipswich, admitted a charge of manslaughter in relation to the death of his father Russell Harvey.

Appearing at Chelmsford Crown Court today, Steven John Harvey, 43, of Rubens Road, Ipswich, admitted a charge of manslaughter in relation to the death of his father Russell Harvey.

Russell Harvey, 74, was found with multiple stab wounds at the home he shared with his two sons in Rubens Road on the Gainsborough Estate, on Sunday January 4. He died later in hospital.

Steven Harvey was today sentenced to an indefinite period of detention in a hospital for the mentally ill in Norwich.
