A LORRY driver from Ipswich has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following an accident on the A12 today.The accident, which happened at around 7am on the southbound carriageway of the A12 at Kelvedon, left a 48-year-old cyclist dead.
A LORRY driver from Ipswich has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following an accident on the A12 today.
The accident, which happened at around 7am on the southbound carriageway of the A12 at Kelvedon, left a 48-year-old cyclist dead.
The 38-year-old motorist is currently being questioned by police in Colchester following his arrest.
Traffic was diverted after police closed part of the road at junction 25, Marks Tey. It was reopened by 12pm.
The cyclist is thought to be a foreign national.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash and ask for anyone with information to call the Stanway Road Policing Unit on 01206 762512.
