An Ipswich man has been charged in connection with three burglary incidents that took place in the town recently.

Michael Harvey, 39 and of no fixed abode, was stopped and searched by police officers in the vicinity of Handford Road on Wednesday afternoon as officers made enquiries into recent burglaries in the area.

Mr Harvey was subsequently arrested by Suffolk police and was charged with three offences.

Two of these alleged offences were burglary; one at an address in Handford Road on November 1 where a laptop, electric guitar and other items were stolen and one at an address in Belstead Road on October 24 where a wallet containing bank cards and cash was stolen.

A further third alleged offence was an attempted burglary at an address in Burlington Road on October 23.

Mr Harvey was remanded in custody by Suffolk police and is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court today.
