A 25-year-old Ipswich man is to appear in court later this month after being charged with drink-driving following a crash in Tuddenham St Martin.

Michael Gowler, of Geneva Road, is also charged with failing to stop after a collision.

The offences are said to have occurred in The Street, Tuddenham, at around 11.25pm last Friday.

Two passengers were in the car and sustained what were described as minor injuries in the collision.

Gowler was arrested just under a mile away from the scene after being located by a police dog.

He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of being the driver of the car.

Cat Cowie, a spokeswoman for Suffolk Constabulary, said Gowler is currently on police bail until his appearance before South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court in Ipswich on November 28.
