An Ipswich man who downloaded child porn has been ordered to attend a sex offenders’ treatment programme.

Antony Pinnington, 49, of Sandpiper Road, Ipswich, who admitted making indecent images of children, possessing a prohibited image of a child and possessing cannabis at Ipswich Crown Court.

Mark Roochove, prosecuting, said police went to Pinnington’s home on September 11 and seized computer equipment after receiving information about his internet use. The court heard six films at the most serious level A and one at level B were found, as well as one level A and three level C images were found on his computer.

Pinnington was given a three-year community order during which he will have to attend the Thames Valley Sex Offenders’ Treatment Programme, a 40-day rehabilitation activity requirement, fined £50, ordered to pay £350 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

He was also made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for five years and ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for five years.

Claire Hullock, for Pinnington, said he had viewed the indecent images after becoming depressed following the end of a relationship.
