An Ipswich man has been jailed for six years after burgling two homes in the town.

Daniel Beresford, 28, was found guilty of raiding two addresses in Bucklesham Road on September 19 last year following a trial at Ipswich Crown Court.

Beresford, of Shetland Close, was cleared of one count of attempted burglary in Felixstowe Road on the same day.

He was convicted on Monday and was sentenced yesterday to six years in prison.

Speaking after sentencing Detective Constable Chris Townrow, of Ipswich CID, said: “I am pleased with the sentence handed down by the court and I hope that it brings comfort to the victims.

“Burglary is an extremely distressing crime. To have your home entered and have your possessions stolen can be very upsetting.

“I hope this sentence serves as a message to anyone involved in this type of offence that it will not be tolerated and we will pursue those responsible.”
