An Ipswich man is been put on the sex offenders’ register after police discovered he had a conviction relating to indecent images of children in Romania.
Vasile Dinca, of Spring Road, was convicted of ‘infantile pornography’ at the District Court of Galati in eastern Romania on December 20, 2011.
Suffolk Constabulary discovered the 24-year-old’s past after he was spoken to on an unrelated matter.
A check was carried out with the authorities in his homeland which brought his conviction to light.
As a result police applied to South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court in Ipswich for a notification order to be made under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
The application was granted and Dinca must now comply with all the notification requirements of the Act, which includes signing the sex offenders’ register.
The order will run until December 9, 2021.
